Between Two Rocks and a Very Hot Place
Shelley Poplak, ex-METRO Samui Editor, has taken the
plunge into the spa business with the opening of Samui's latest
location for cleanliness next to godliness, Tamarind
Retreat.
Nestled in the lush hill scenery between Lamai and
Chaweng, it's an oasis for body & soul, providing herbal
steam and massage. Situated in a beautiful coconut grove on the
side of a mountain, it has a steam room built between two huge
rocks (see picture) with a cold plunge room just outside. Follow
your traditional herbal sauna with a massage and a refreshing herbal
drink and your day should leave you with improved circulation, fewer
toxins, clear respiratory passages, better digestion and with rejuvenated
skin. Oh, and you'll be really clean as well. A welcome addition
to Samui's growing New Age and Healthy Holidays scene.
